The 90 Day Giving Challenge invites us each into a posture of living where we proclaim, “God owns it all and I invest my finances for the sake of his purposes.”

The Heart of Giving

Scripture teaches us that God is generous and desires for his people to be generous as well (2 Corinthians 9:6-11).

God has asked us to give intentionally, regularly and generously so we might grow in our faith. When we give we are declaring our desire to steward everything God has given us according to his purposes. He desires to bless his people, and for them to be a blessing to others.

Giving is also a means to release the stronghold that finances and material things have in our hearts.

God knew that his people would become attached to things and in turn, worship them instead of him. We give regularly so that we are continually put in a position of humility, service, and trust; so that he can free us from the grasp of materialism.

3 Ways to Commit to Giving

If you attend Rockharbor and you don’t give to the church, start by making a commitment to give regularly at your campus for 90 days.

If you already give regularly and have experience living on less—or if you have the spiritual gift of generosity—choose to give above and beyond. This fall, we invite you to attend one of our Generosity Community Interest Dinners to hear more about our church’s future and the part you can play.

The Local Church

When you give, you are tangibly joining in God’s Kingdom work through the local church. The local church is the expression of God’s heart for the world around us. There is always the temptation to just be an observer in the church, to sit back and allow others to carry the weight. Giving demonstrates you are an active participant and investing not only your time and talents, but also your treasures in the local church.

Part of each dollar goes to ensure we have the leadership and materials we need to do the things we do. Whether we’re planning for Alpha, running weekend services, sending out mission’s teams or hosting events like Christmas and Easter, we’re stewarding each donation towards those ends.

As Rockharbor works together to build communities to reach every community, a part of your giving goes towards making sure things like technology support, communications, facilities, and finances are strong so we can do all the things we do seamlessly and effectively.
