The Choosing of the Seven

February 4, 2013  —

The apostles cannot helpξbut preach the Gospel and share what the Lord has done in and through them. Despite their best efforts, they are not able toξeffectively minister to every person that they encounter because of cultural issues and a general overload in work. Instead of holding tightly to the movement that they had initiated, they decide to appoint 7 more men, including Stephen, to be champions of the Gospel that they have been preaching. These men are full of the Spirit and full of wisdom, and are able to join in with the apostles as they dedicate their lives to sharing the Holy Spirit and pointing to the Gospel with as many people as possible.
