Questions

Foster & Adoption

God is doing a unique work within our community, calling many to foster care and adoption. If you’re thinking about fostering or adopting, have started the process, or have already begun to build a family, we’re here for you. The Orphan Care ministry provides educational resources, support groups, and more. Learn more about the Orphan Care ministry.

YoungLives

YoungLives gives teen parents the support and love they need. Through one-on-one mentoring, monthly clubs and annual camps, teen moms and dads are empowered to make positive choices, set and achieve goals, and live a future rooted in Christ.

Watts Powerhouse Church

Pastor Todd Grant of Watts Powerhouse Church describes Watts as a modern-day Samaria; it’s an overlooked community that desperately needs love and support. The Rockharbor team serves every 3rd Sunday of the month by cooking and serving a meal and building relationships with the Powerhouse community.

Homelessness

Homelessness is a very complicated issue involving the challenges of family dynamics, addictions, health concerns, mental illness, legal matters, job losses, and so many more complex factors. As a result, trust is a huge challenge for our neighbors who are experiencing homelessness. Relationship-building is the key and although it takes time, this is the greatest goal we have in regards to this issue. Meals On Wheels

Thursdays and Fridays | 10:30am-12:30pm

Meals On Wheels serves the senior population of Mission Viejo by delivering food and spending quality time with those living in isolation. This is a great opportunity to meet a need in our community and show love to a neglected population. Deliver food, and share God’s love. If you want to get involved with this ministry, email Sharon Genton.

International Justice Mission- Slavery/Trafficking

We had a staff member from IJM come out in 2018 and teach and inform us on what is happening with modern-day slavery. The church responded by 60 people saying yes to becoming Freedom Partners, monthly subscribers who support IJM’s efforts to end slavery. Through prayer and discernment we have decided to start a partnership with IJM and will be supporting the Field Office in the Philippines through financial support, prayer, and awareness events. For more information please email Brian Hill.

Safe Families

Safe Families help at-risk children by providing a safe, temporary home for children while their struggling parents cope with issues like illness, unemployment, addiction, domestic abuse, or incarceration. The ultimate goal is to protect the family, prevent child abuse, keep children out of the foster care system, and, ultimately, reunite children with their biological parents. If you’d like to learn more about becoming a Host Family, contact Brian Hill.

Community Engagement

We want to be a church that doesn’t just take up space in our city. We want to be giving back and partnering with the city to love others. We have multiple events throughout the year that we volunteer and attend. This is an ongoing ministry as we see new needs come up. Some events are the same every year, and some are new according to the relationships formed. For more information, email Sharon.
