Rockharbor was started with the heartbeat that the volunteers would run the church and there are so many ways for you to play a part in writing our story. Serve Teams are one of the best entry points into finding family at RH. Whether you are greeting at a door, making a latte, mentoring a High School student, or helping with the production of our weekend services, you will not only find a place to belong, but a family as well.

God has gifted all of us with unique skill sets and capabilities and we believe He asks us to use those to further His Kingdom. This is not something that is reserved for church staff or leaders, but every believer at RH is seen as a minister.

If you’re new to RHCM or if you’ve called it home for some time, we challenge you to join one of these teams and use the unique gifts that God has given you.  Below is a list of our serve teams with information on each team.

RHCM Serve Opportunities

Alpha

Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith over the course of 8 weeks. Each week we discuss various fundamental questions about faith and life followed by a group conversation around these topics. We welcome all who are interested and/or willing to serve with us. We have teams for all different serving capacities.

Arts Team

At RHCM, the creative arts are a vital part of expressing who God is and telling the story of His work in our lives, in our church, and in our world. Through a variety of performances, galleries, and workshops, we are always seeking to engage and develop artists of all kinds, finding new ways to inspire our church and our community by utilizing creativity to point out the wonder of God.Our artists come from all forms of creative expression, including: dance, theater, visual arts, interior design, fashion, writing, crafting, construction, filmmaking, and on and on.

The Caf

The Caf is responsible for providing delicious, caffeinated beverages at our Weekend Services. This team strives to provide a space for people to connect with each other while enjoying a tasty drink served by our trained baristas. When you serve at the Caf you will be placed on a team that meets every other week. Each team meets an hour before each service to set up. The following is the breakdown of the positions at the Caf:

  • Cashier
  • Barista Assistant
  • Barista
  • Brewer
  • Lobby & Patio Host

Facilities

We want to make sure our facility is clean and presentable. Play a part during our Weekend Services by completing various tasks throughout the building, including restocking restrooms, cleaning spills/messes, and more.

Connect Desk

Visiting the Connect Desk is one of the best ways to get information about what’s going on and how to get involved in the Rockharbor Community! As a volunteer at the Connect Desk, you will be interacting with people before and after Weekend Services to help answer questions and provide resources. Not only does the Connect Desk allow you to connect with people but you will also be trained and given all information needed. If you thrive in one on one conversations or desire to help answer questions this is the job for you!

Families

This is a team of people who are committed to investing in the lives of parents and children during and beyong weekend services.

Early Childhood Ministry – Infants-Kindergarteners
For the infants and toddlers, we create a loving quiet and calm environment where we can pray blessings over each child and explore who God is. As the kids get older, you get to play games, assist with crafts and help assist with more high energy curriculum. You will be shepherding the older children through questions about the story and Biblical truth, engaging them in community-building activities, helping them create a remembrance of their experience, and blessing them before they leave.

Elementary Children’s Ministry
This team is looking for volunteers who are able to give weekly or every other week commitments to develop lasting relationships with each child. Volunteers get to build relationships as they engage in leading fun, creative activities, and help facilitate discussion times after hearing parts of the Big God Story. All of our volunteers must apply, go through training, and arrive 30 minutes prior to their service.

Families Desk
Powered by our new church management software myRH, electronic check-ins allow us to more quickly and securely check our children into their weekend classrooms and alert our staff of any allergies or special needs. Volunteers will assist families in checking in their children while also standing by to help and make the process as easy as possible. Volunteers must go through training.

Special Needs
Serve in this specialized area of Families ministry as a one on one buddy with a child with special needs during Sunday services at 9 am, 11 am, and 5pm.

Middle School
Being highly relational ministry we ask for a year-long commitment. We ask you to serve on Sundays at 10am and Wednesdays at 6pm to disciple and mentor a small Life Group. There are special events & trips throughout the year as well.

High School
We’d love for you to consider what it would look like to join our community in High School Ministry. Our students gather on Sundays for services at 11am. During the summer, we do a lot of connecting events such as beach bonfire nights, games, movie night

Greeters

Greeters hold the responsibility of making sure everyone’s first and every visit to RHCM is warm and hospitable. Greeters make everyone feel welcome and help build a sense of community. Our Greeter team is a great place to build relationships and use your gifts! The Greeter teams meet an hour before each service (8am, 10 am, and 6pm) to pray over each other and the service as well as prepare the lobby.

Groups Leader

Group leaders provide oversight and leadership for the group, as they grow in their identity in Christ, being family, and living missionally. The role of the leader is to empower their group to step into their unique gifts to serve one another and grow together.

Marriage Mentor

Marriage Mentoring is a couple-to-couple relationship where an experienced couple comes alongside a newlywed couple to encourage and support them for the first 2 years of marriage.  We’re always looking for couples interested in sharing the lessons of their life together as mentors who walk together with newly married couples. If you’ve seen God work within your marriage and have been married for at least three years, we invite you to consider the ways God can use you to bless the beginning of other couples’ lives together.

Mid-week

Serve with our Church Wide Operations Team in some of the behind-the-scenes areas of Rockharbor during the week. Various hours and opportunities are available. While our Front Desk is always looking for volunteers who can answer phone calls and complete tasks, we could also use help in other departments. Such as IT, facilities, and accounting.
